Afghanistan, June 23 -- Israel has struck six Iranian airfields across the country and destroyed 15 aircraft, raising tensions and fears of further escalation in the region.

The Israeli army announced that it had carried out targeted airstrikes on six major airports across different provinces in Iran and destroyed 15 aircraft.

The army stated on Monday, June 23, that airports located in Mashhad, Tabriz, Tehran, Hamadan, Shahid Bakhtiari, and Dezful were hit.

According to the Israeli military, these strikes were intended to degrade Iran's capability to launch aerial attacks from these sites.

Additionally, Israel reported hitting missile and drone sites in Isfahan, Bushehr, Ahvaz, and, for the first time, targeting the Yazd region.
