Afghanistan, March 8 -- The Israeli army announced on Friday, March 7, that it had targeted military positions belonging to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. These strikes were part of ongoing efforts to dismantle infrastructure tied to the Iranian-backed group.

These attacks come while the ceasefire agreement of November 27 remains in place. The agreement was reached after two months of full-scale war, which included the deployment of Israeli ground forces into Lebanon.

According to the ceasefire agreement, Israel was supposed to withdraw its forces from five positions in Lebanon, but has not done so yet. Hezbollah was also required to withdraw from southern Lebanon to the north of the Litani River.
