Afghanistan, Oct. 28 -- Israel said it received a coffin believed to contain a hostage's remains from Gaza, with identification underway as pressure grows for full hostage recovery.
Israel's military announced that a coffin believed to contain the remains of an Israeli hostage killed in Gaza has been received through the International Committee of the Red Cross. The handover reportedly took place in Gaza City.
The body has been transferred to a forensic institute in Tel Aviv for verification. Officials said the identification process could take up to two days.
Hamas has not disclosed the identity of the victim. Once confirmed, the number of deceased hostages whose bodies are still held in Gaza would stand at 12.
