Afghanistan, Nov. 10 -- Iran's immigration authority has directed all Afghan residents with handwritten family passports to obtain electronic ones within six months to ensure documentation compliance.

Iran's Bureau for Foreign Nationals and Immigrants Affairs has announced that all Afghan residents in the country holding handwritten family passports must switch to electronic passports within six months.

Nader Yar Ahmadi, the bureau's director, made the remarks during a meeting in Tehran with Fazel Mohammad Haqqani, the acting Taliban envoy, to discuss migration management and border cooperation.
