Afghanistan, Feb. 9 -- Iranian Nobel laureate Narges Mohammadi received a new prison sentence exceeding seven years, including exile and travel bans, authorities confirmed Sunday officially.
Reuters reported that Iranian human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi has received a new sentence totaling more than seven years.
According to her support organization, Mohammadi informed her lawyer of the verdict during a brief phone call from detention.
The sentence includes six years for alleged collusion against national security and an additional 18 months for propaganda against the state.
Mohammadi, 53, ended a week-long hunger strike on Sunday after protesting her detention conditions and legal proceedings.
