Afghanistan, July 28 -- Iran's Foreign Ministry confirmed there is no official plan for President Masoud Pezeshkian to visit Afghanistan, calling his recent remarks a personal gesture of goodwill.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei announced Monday that there are no official plans for President Masoud Pezeshkian to visit Afghanistan at this time.

Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, Baghaei clarified that Pezeshkian's recent comments about visiting Kabul were "a personal expression of goodwill," not part of any scheduled trip.

The clarification comes after the Iranian president told Foreign Ministry officials on Sunday that he was "ready to travel to Kabul" to open a new chapter in bilateral relations.
