Afghanistan, Jan. 8 -- Iran said it has opened a new land route at the Milak border with Afghanistan, doubling cargo traffic and expanding cross-border trade capacity.

Iran's embassy in Kabul announced on Wednesday that a new land route has been opened at the Milak border crossing with Afghanistan, doubling the capacity for cargo trucks transporting goods between the two countries.

In a post on X, the embassy said the new route will significantly increase the flow of Iranian fuel and commercial exports into Afghanistan through the Milak-Zaranj crossing linking Iran's Sistan-Baluchestan province with Afghanistan's Nimroz province.
