Afghanistan, March 15 -- Iran Human Rights Organization has reported that Iran executed an Afghan citizen. The organization announced on Friday, March 14, that the execution took place six days ago at the central prison in Shiraz.
The organization identified the man as Zaki Zakiri, a resident of Nangarhar province in Afghanistan. According to the report, Zaki was arrested on charges of drug trafficking.
Iran Human Rights, a European-based human rights organization, emphasized that Iran has executed at least 80 Afghan citizens in 2024 alone.
