Afghanistan, Feb. 10 -- Following the rise in executions of Afghan citizens in Iran, a human rights organization called Hengaw has reported that two prisoners, including one Afghan national, were executed at the central prison in Gorgan.
The organization released a report on Sunday, February 9, stating that the executions took place at the central prison in Gorgan.
The report mentioned that the Afghan citizen was named "Abdulhamid Kohkan" and had been arrested four years ago on charges related to drug offenses.
This comes at a time when the number of executions in Iran, including those of Afghan citizens, has increased in recent months, drawing criticism from human rights organizations.
