Afghanistan, June 11 -- Iran has executed nine convicted ISIS fighters involved in a 2018 attack, following a Supreme Court ruling upholding their sentences.

The Iranian judiciary has announced the execution of nine members of the Islamic State (ISIS), who were arrested in connection with a deadly clash in 2018. According to Iran's ISNA news agency, the executions took place after their sentences were upheld by the country's Supreme Court.

The individuals were reportedly captured following an armed confrontation with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the Bamo region of western Iran. The clash resulted in the deaths of three Iranian soldiers and several ISIS fighters.
