Afghanistan, May 24 -- Iran has deported more than 300 migrant child workers and their families to Afghanistan amid efforts to reduce child labor in Tehran.
Iranian authorities have announced that over 300 migrant child workers, along with their families, have been repatriated to their countries of origin during the past two months as part of the "Organization and Support of Child Workers" initiative.
According to IRNA news agency, quoting Mohammad Nasiri, Director General of Tehran's Welfare Organization, these children are mostly foreign nationals, predominantly Afghan migrants, referred to by Iranian officials as "foreign nationals." Nasiri revealed that 85% of the identified child workers in the program are undocumented migrants.
