Afghanistan, Jan. 27 -- Iran is preparing for a possible new military strike by the United States and Israel following the deployment of a US aircraft carrier, analysts cited by British media say.
Britain's Guardian newspaper reported on Monday that observers believe Iran is bracing for fresh attacks after the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group was deployed to waters near the region.
The report said Washington, potentially coordinating with Israeli fighter jets, appears to have sufficient firepower for strikes aimed at Iran's political leadership rather than its already weakened nuclear programme.
