Afghanistan, June 23 -- Iran's UN representative condemned the U.S. airstrikes on nuclear sites as a historic stain, asserting Iran's right to self-defense.

Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, condemned the recent U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites during an emergency session of the UN Security Council.

Iravani described the attack as "another stain" on America's record and stated that Iran reserves its right to defend itself against such aggression.

He also emphasized that Iran, as a sovereign and peace-seeking nation, had repeatedly warned Washington about its warlike policies targeting Iranian nuclear facilities.
