Afghanistan, Sept. 17 -- An internet shutdown in several Afghanistan provinces has blocked thousands of girls from accessing online schools, cutting off their last chance for continued education opportunities.

Thousands of Afghan students have been unable to attend online classes following recent internet cuts, leaving many young women without access to their last avenue of education.

Online school administrators confirmed that dozens of teachers and students were unable to log in to their classes, with connectivity failures preventing participation.
