Afghanistan, Oct. 22 -- India has upgraded its technical mission in Kabul to a full embassy with immediate effect, expanded diplomatic, humanitarian, and development cooperation with Afghanistan.

India's Ministry of External Affairs announced Tuesday that its technical mission in Kabul will be upgraded to a full embassy, effective immediately, marking a major diplomatic shift.

In a statement, the ministry said the decision reflects New Delhi's "firm commitment to expanding bilateral engagement" with Afghanistan's current administration across political, economic, and humanitarian domains.
