Afghanistan, Jan. 29 -- The Public Health Ministry announced India has sent 2.5 tons of anti-cancer medication to Kabul to support cancer patients and strengthen treatment services.

The Taliban described the medications as critical for cancer treatment and stated they will be distributed to medical centers after technical and supervisory procedures are completed.

India's Foreign Ministry previously stated it would supply Afghanistan's pharmaceutical needs for the long term as part of ongoing humanitarian commitments to the country.
