Afghanistan, Sept. 8 -- India is considering inviting Taliban foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, with reports suggesting New Delhi may seek a UN travel waiver despite global concerns over recognition and legitimacy.

Indian media have reported that New Delhi is exploring ways to invite Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban's foreign minister, to India despite United Nations travel sanctions. Sources said Indian officials are already in contact with Taliban representatives to facilitate the visit.
