Afghanistan, Sept. 9 -- India is expected to finalise a free trade agreement framework with Qatar in early October, aiming to boost bilateral trade and attract significant Qatari investments.
Government sources have indicated that India may finalise the framework of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Qatar by early October, strengthening bilateral economic ties.
According to a Reuters report on Monday, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal is expected to travel to Doha on 6 October to conclude the negotiations.
During the visit of Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to India in February, both sides agreed to elevate their partnership and raise bilateral trade to USD 28 billion within five years.
