Afghanistan, Feb. 28 -- Hamas has announced its readiness to negotiate a second phase of the fragile ceasefire, following the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails in exchange for the bodies of four Israeli hostages. This exchange marked the end of the first phase of the ceasefire.
On Thursday, February 27, Hamas stated that it was prepared to begin negotiations on the second phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The group added that the release of the remaining hostages in Gaza can only be achieved through negotiations and a commitment to the ceasefire.
