Afghanistan, Feb. 4 -- Pakistani media reported that at least four police officers were injured after unidentified armed attackers targeted a police checkpoint in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday.

According to reports, the coordinated attack took place in the Parwa area of Dera Ismail Khan district, where gunmen launched an assault targeting local security forces.

Local media claimed the attackers were attempting to loot a branch of the National Bank of Pakistan operating within the same area during the incident.

Gunmen reportedly surrounded a nearby local administrative office for about forty-five minutes, triggering heavy exchanges of gunfire before security forces regained control of the situation.
