Afghanistan, Nov. 27 -- Germany expects to begin relocating most Afghan evacuees stranded in Pakistan within weeks, as Berlin accelerates efforts to move approved applicants before year's end.
Germany's Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt told an emergency session of the Bundestag's Internal Affairs Committee on Wednesday that Berlin is working to transfer a substantial number of approved Afghan evacuees from Pakistan to Germany in the coming weeks. He said the government aims to complete most transfers by the end of the year, though he stopped short of making a firm guarantee.
