Afghanistan, April 11 -- Germany's new coalition plans to end the fast-track citizenship option, requiring migrants to live five years before applying for nationality.
Germany's incoming coalition government, formed by conservative and social democratic parties, has announced plans to scrap the three-year fast-track citizenship path for migrants.
Under the new policy, migrants will be eligible for German citizenship after five years of residency. They will also be allowed to retain the citizenship of their country of origin.
