Afghanistan, Feb. 11 -- India has confirmed that France is in active negotiations to purchase a multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) from India. Ummalaneni Raja Babu, the Director-General of Missile and Strategic Systems at India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), stated that although no agreement has been reached yet, discussions are ongoing.

According to Reuters on Monday, February 10, Babu confirmed that France is in talks to acquire the "Pinaka" rocket system. This system, developed domestically in India, is designed to launch multiple rockets simultaneously or consecutively, specifically for large-scale attacks over wide areas to inflict substantial damage.
