Afghanistan, Dec. 6 -- Four civilians were killed near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border after overnight clashes, deepening tensions despite ongoing diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
Four civilians, including a woman and a child, were killed and four others injured during overnight clashes between Pakistani forces and Taliban fighters near the Spin Boldak border crossing. Local health workers say two of the wounded remain in critical condition.
Residents report that mortar shells struck the villages of Mazar and Luqman, where the victims had been sheltering. The fighting also forced several families to flee their homes as tensions escalated in the area.
