Afghanistan, Sept. 17 -- Mohammad Hanif Atmar, Acting Foreign Minister, headed a high-profile delegation to Tajikistan, in a bid to discuss joint cooperation and economic developing in the county and region, the ministry said in a statement.

According to the statement, the two-day trip is upon an official invitation by the Tajikistan government.

Atmar is due to meet with President Imam Ali Rahman, Prime Minister Qaher Rasulzadeh, Foreign Minister Sirajuddin Mehraldin and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan Seyed Momen Yatimov, the statement read.
