Afghanistan, June 28 -- Flash flooding in Pakistan's Swat Valley has killed 18 people, including tourists, as rescue teams search for missing victims amid rising water levels.
At least 18 people, including several tourists, have died after flash floods swept through northwestern Pakistan, local media reported on Saturday, June 28. The incident occurred on Friday along the Swat River, a popular destination in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to Dawn, the floods struck suddenly, catching many visitors off guard. Shah Fahad, spokesperson for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa emergency services, confirmed that rescue teams have so far recovered eight bodies, while efforts continue to locate the remaining ten missing individuals.
