Afghanistan, May 4 -- Five people, including a child, were killed when a vehicle plunged into Pashdan Dam in Herat following a collision.
A tragic road accident in Herat province claimed five lives, including a young girl, when a speeding car fell into the Pashdan Dam. The incident occurred after the car collided with a motorcycle and veered off the road into the reservoir.
According to Mohammad Yousuf Saeedi, spokesperson for the Herat governor, the accident took place on Saturday, May 3. He confirmed that two passengers from the car were rescued alive.
An eyewitness told local media that the crash happened around sunset the previous day. Rescue teams worked for nearly ten hours to retrieve the bodies from the dam's waters.
