Afghanistan, Oct. 13 -- The first buses carrying freed Palestinian prisoners arrived in Gaza and Ramallah under a major Israel-Palestine exchange deal brokered by Egypt and Qatar.

The first of 38 buses carrying released Palestinian prisoners arrived in Gaza on Monday, as part of a major prisoner exchange between Israel and Palestinian groups.

Witnesses said Al-Qassam Brigades fighters were deployed in the southern city of Khan Younis to secure the handover process and ensure calm during the transfers. Crowds lined the streets to welcome the returning detainees.
