Afghanistan, Sept. 17 -- FBI Director Kash Patel told the Senate Judiciary Committee that international drug cartels must be confronted like terrorist groups, comparing them to al-Qaeda and emphasizing long-term threats.
The head of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has said that international drug trafficking networks should be targeted in the same way as terrorist organizations such as al-Qaeda.
Speaking before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, September 16, FBI Director Kash Patel stressed that confronting drug cartels will be a long-term mission requiring sustained action.
