Afghanistan, Oct. 28 -- FAO says it has built 360 potato and onion storage facilities across Afghanistan with World Bank support to cut post-harvest losses and improve food security.

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) says 360 storage facilities for potatoes and onions have been built in several provinces of Afghanistan with support from the World Bank. The agency said the facilities are designed to prevent large quantities of produce from spoiling.

According to FAO, each storage unit has a capacity of 45 to 50 tons. The initiative aims to improve food security and local agricultural income.
