Afghanistan, Oct. 11 -- At least 19 people were missing and several feared dead after a massive explosion tore through a military ammunition plant in Tennessee on Friday.

A powerful explosion ripped through an ammunition manufacturing facility in Humphreys County, Tennessee, early Friday, leaving at least 19 people missing and several others presumed dead, local authorities said.

Sheriff Chris Davis told reporters the blast occurred around 7:45 a.m. local time at a plant located roughly 80 kilometers west of Nashville. He described the site as "completely destroyed" and called it one of the worst scenes he had ever witnessed.
