Afghanistan, Jan. 22 -- The European Parliament has again voted overwhelmingly to urge the European Union to designate Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization.
The non-binding resolution was approved on Thursday with a large majority, as lawmakers intensified political pressure on EU institutions over Iran's security forces.
Out of 628 lawmakers present, 562 voted in favor of the motion, while nine opposed it and 57 abstained, reflecting broad cross-party support.
Although the vote carries strong political weight, it does not automatically change EU policy, as the final and legally binding decision rests with the EU Council.
