Afghanistan, March 12 -- Media outlets reported that the European Union responded to the U.S. decision to raise tariffs on steel and aluminum imports to 25% by imposing tariffs on over $28 billion worth of U.S. goods.
This retaliatory action from the EU was announced on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, and will take effect on April 1, 2025. Meanwhile, U.S. tariffs on all steel (25%) and aluminum (25%) imports from the EU are set to begin on March 13, 2025.
