Afghanistan, Sept. 3 -- A Dutch court ruled the government must evacuate 42 Afghan guards and families from Kabul, citing discriminatory treatment during 2021 evacuations and ongoing security threats.

A Dutch court has ruled that the government must evacuate 42 Afghan guards who worked at the Netherlands' embassy in Kabul, along with their families, to the Netherlands.

The Hague District Court said on Tuesday that the failure to evacuate the Afghan guards during the fall of Kabul in 2021 amounted to discriminatory treatment. At the time, the Dutch government evacuated Hungarian security personnel but not their Afghan counterparts.
