Afghanistan, Nov. 8 -- Denmark plans to prohibit social media use for children under 15, citing concerns over mental health, safety, and lost childhood.
The Danish government announced on Friday that it will introduce a nationwide ban on social media platforms for children below the age of 15, aiming to protect minors from online harms and excessive screen use.
Digital Affairs Minister Caroline Stage Olsen said platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube have "stolen our children's time, health, and childhood," stressing the government's duty to safeguard young users.
Parents will still be allowed to grant limited access to teenagers aged 13 and above under supervision, according to the proposal unveiled in Copenhagen.
