Afghanistan, Jan. 19 -- A powerful explosion struck a hotel in Kabul's Shahr-e-Naw district, killing several people and injuring others, officials said.
An explosion struck a hotel area in central Kabul on Monday, causing casualties, as witnesses said Chinese nationals were the main target.
Khalid Zadran, spokesman for the Taliban police command in Kabul, confirmed that Monday's explosion in the Golforoshi alley caused casualties. He said the blast occurred inside a hotel and an investigation is under way to determine the number and nature of the victims.
