Afghanistan, April 8 -- The National Highway Authority of Pakistan has announced the construction of a new highway, approximately 48 kilometers long, with four lanes for both directions, stretching from Peshawar to Torkham.

The authority stated that the goal of constructing this highway is to facilitate trade and promote economic development in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. It also mentioned that the estimated cost of the project is 385 million dollars.

According to reports, the project was initially scheduled to begin in 2017. However, due to various reasons, it faced delays. Now, the project has been handed over to a contractor on behalf of a company.
