Amid rising trade tensions between Washington and Beijing, China has announced its readiness to consider the U.S. proposal for trade negotiations. On Friday, May 2, China's Ministry of Commerce stated that it is reviewing the U.S. offer, but any discussions would depend on Washington demonstrating "genuine sincerity."
In April, the U.S. imposed new tariffs of up to 145% on numerous Chinese goods. In retaliation, Beijing introduced counter-tariffs of 125% on imports from the U.S., escalating the trade conflict further.
