The Ministry of Natural Resources confirmed the "Dadonggu" deposit on Friday, calling it the largest single gold find in the country since the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Officials said the mine contains about 2.586 million tons of ore, with an average grade of 0.56 grams per ton, totaling roughly 1,444 tons of gold.
