Afghanistan, Sept. 24 -- Speaking at the 75th UN General Assembly through a video conference on Wednesday, President Ashraf Ghani said "Afghan people have a clear and urgent priority: a ceasefire, adding an urgent end to the violence will, more than anything else, give us a change to progress."
Reflecting on the release of Taliban prisoner as one of the toughest decisions, Ghani said, "we have demonstrated the commitment, compassion and courage to take hard decisions to start direct peace talks with the Taliban."
