The Cannes Film Festival, the most significant global cinematic event, began on Tuesday. From the very first night, two distinct aspects of the festival were on display, making it unique. On one hand, political themes and artistic resistance against dictatorships and enemies of freedom were highlighted. On the other hand, there was the playful and whimsical spirit that once earned cinema the title of the "dream factory."
