Afghanistan, May 5 -- Canadian and Afghan activists rallied across the country, demanding education rights for women and girls in Afghanistan.
A Canadian organization, Canadian Women for Education in Afghanistan, held a protest march on Sunday to support the right to education for Afghan women and girls and to condemn what they described as gender apartheid under Taliban rule. Protesters carried placards demanding international attention to the worsening plight of women since the Taliban regained power.
