Afghanistan, July 8 -- Bismillah Shinwari, a respected cricket umpire from Afghanistan, passed away due to illness. He officiated in numerous international and domestic matches throughout his career.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced that Bismillah Shinwari, one of the country's experienced cricket umpires who had an active role in national and international matches, has passed away.

In a statement, the board stated that the cause of his death was illness.

The country's Cricket Board described Mr. Shinwari's passing as a great and irreparable loss to the sport.

It is worth mentioning that he officiated in 34 One Day Internationals, 26 T20 Internationals, 31 First-Class matches, 51 List A games, and 96 domestic T20 matches.
