Afghanistan, Nov. 27 -- Taliban-appointed Badakhshan governor Ismail Ghaznavi has traveled to Tajikistan for high-level border security talks, as both sides seek to ease recent tensions along their shared frontier.

Taliban-appointed Badakhshan governor Ismail Ghaznavi has traveled to Tajikistan for talks focused on border security, state television reported on Thursday.

The visit took Ghaznavi to Tajikistan's autonomous Gorno-Badakhshan region, where he met senior security officials, including the deputy head of the country's national security service.

According to the report, both sides discussed recent developments along the shared frontier and ways to prevent armed incidents in the mountainous border districts.
