Afghanistan, Feb. 1 -- Foreign media reports indicate that at least 18 Pakistani soldiers were killed following a clash with armed militants in the country's Balochistan province.
Anadolu Agency reported on Saturday, February 1st that Pakistani soldiers clashed with militants in the southwestern part of the country last night, resulting in the deaths of 18 soldiers and 12 militants.
The Pakistani army also confirmed the heavy casualties in a separate statement, although it did not specify the group involved. The army described the operation as "a military action against terrorism."
