At least 10 people were killed and more than 260 others injured after a powerful 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck northern Afghanistan late Sunday night, officials on Monday.
Sharafat Zaman, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health, confirmed that rescue teams are working in affected areas and warned that the death toll could rise as more reports come in.
Local sources said six people were killed and nearly 70 injured in Balkh province alone, while dozens of others remain missing as search operations continue.
