Afghanistan, Feb. 1 -- Amnesty International has called on the cricket world to support the Afghanistan Women's National Cricket Team in playing at higher levels. The organization welcomed the return of the Afghanistan Women's National Cricket Team to the field after years of exile, calling it "great news."

On Friday, January 31, Amnesty International, while supporting the Afghanistan women's team's match in Melbourne, Australia, stated that the Taliban must "immediately" lift the "severe restrictions" on the rights of Afghanistan's women and girls.

The organization emphasized that the Taliban must end the systemic gender-based abuse in Afghanistan.
