Amazon unveiled new delivery technologies on Wednesday, including AI-driven smart glasses and robotic systems, as part of efforts to reduce delivery times and boost efficiency.
At its annual "Delivering the Future" event on October 22, the company introduced "Amelia" smart glasses for drivers, featuring step-by-step navigation, barcode scanning, and photo confirmation of deliveries.
Beryl Tomay, Amazon's vice president of transportation, said hundreds of drivers tested the glasses, which reduced delivery times by up to 30 minutes per shift.
