According to Syrian news agencies, Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa issued Decree No. 5 of 2025, which establishes the National Security Council. The council will be chaired by the president and include the ministers of foreign affairs, defense, and interior, as well as the head of the intelligence organization.
