Afghanistan, Jan. 29 -- Afghanistan topped asylum applications in France in 2025 with 13,800 requests and a 78.8 percent acceptance rate, the French Office for Protection of Refugees reported.
The Democratic Republic of Congo submitted 13,200 applications, Haiti 12,600, and Ukraine 12,300, making these four countries responsible for over one-third of total asylum requests.
Total asylum applications in France reached 145,210 in 2025, representing a 5.5 percent decrease compared to 2024 and marking the second consecutive year of decline.
